How To Start a Blog

To begin with, the steps I outline listed here are for blogs which are hosted by a genuine hosting company. Not the free blogs you can start on various platforms for example WordPress.com or blogger.com or Tumblr.com etc... They're all fine to utilize but this means you may not really have 100% control over your website and its customization. Remember, the "Free" blogs are in fact hosted on a platform you have no control over... PERIOD!

how to start a blog

In case you are serious about starting your site, let's get serious about carrying this out correctly. I'm going to outline the three easy steps below that may have your own blog ready to go within about 30 minutes. Of course this will depend on just how you can follow directions. If you were to ask me to begin a blog from scratch, I'm able to do it within eight minutes flat. It's quite simple once you learn. It's like riding a bike. once you learn you'll always be able to jump on a bike and ride.

OK, you can forget wasting time here. Let us get started:

Step #1: Set-Up A Hosting Account

Setting up a hosting account is the first crucial step in starting a blog. This is actually the place that will host (or store) your blog. The most common name I bet it may seem of is probably GoDaddy.com right? Hold your horses, before you decide to jump right to Go Daddy, there are many choices that are available and in my opinion (and many opinions of so many other professional bloggers) BlueHost will be the way to go. Why? As they are platform is very user-friendly (for non-technical dummies at all like me) and their platform is geared for hosting blogs. I've got a GoDaddy account and a Bluehost account and let me tell you, Bluehost is definitely easier to use.

Step #2: Uploading the WordPress Widget

The really cool thing about Bluehost is always that with the click of 1 button your blog set itself up. Yup, this really is that easy. All you do is sign on, go to the cPanel and click on the little "Install WordPress" icon. The instructions next are easy to follow. This part takes no more than about 1 minute to complete. Once you finish this step your blog is almost all set. Well, technically it really is ready to go now however when you see step #3 you'll see what I mean.

Step #3: Changing the template

When you go shopping to the mall, you see a huge selection of stores right? You enter some that have a fantastic vibe and a super charged atmosphere, while some have no customers and you may almost hear the crickets without anyone's knowledge. Before too long these stores are broke. That's how you blog works too. Without having a great look and feel to your blog people won't hang in there for too long. I recommend changing the theme to something eye-catching that fits your topic. Don't settle for the standard template that comes preloaded.
